Day two started relatively well, the wind wasn’t TOO bad for the first 70km from Reitz to Kestell, except for the rain we had just before Kestell! The 40km from Kestell to Sterkfontein Dam was terrible!! Apart from the fact that the wind was blowing it poured down most off the way, and we also had a few hail storms to deal with! From Sterkfontein Dam to Drakensville we had a couple of big Drakensberg hills to deal with, as well as a very technical and windy downhill.
We also had a couple of technical problems along the way (a few punctures and broken spokes), but apart from that (almost) everyone completed the days riding!
Unfortunately we have a very bad internet connection so we are unable to upload any photos, be sure to check back on Friday afternoon for the photos.
Tomorrow’s stage is a (relatively) short stage of 93km from Drakensville to Estcourt.
